Fire Department Rules

Granted by the New York City Charter, the Fire Department retains the authority to adopt rules which work in conjunction with the Fire Code 2014. These rules often include permit and certificate requirements compiled in Title 3 of the Rules of the City of New York. Section numbers of each rule reference the applicable section number of the Fire Code for easy reference.

Fire Department Rules

Before a Fire Department rule is enacted into law, the public has the opportunity to become involved and voice their opinion before a decision is made. Make sure to keep an eye out for proposed rules that may affect your project.
