406.1.1.2 Welding Requirements

All welded gas distribution and meter piping main and branch supplies to customer equipment operating in excess of 3 psig (20 kPa gauge) inside buildings shall be welded; and shall be subject to special inspection in accordance with Chapter 17 of the New York City Building Code.
