Two samples of the system shall be subjected to the following test sequence.
12-3-6.2
The system, when in the closed position, shall resist 50-pound (22 N) force without opening, loosening in the test fixture or damaging the releasing assembly. The force shall be applied on the exterior side of the test fixture in a location that is most likely to move or damage the system. The force shall be gradually applied perpendicular to the opening and held for a period of 1 minute. A 3/8-inch (10 mm) diameter rope looped through the security bars, or similar arrangement, shall be used to apply the force.
