Fire protection devices, equipment and systems, including fire detection systems and fire extinguishing systems, shall be readily accessible for inspection, operation and maintenance. Combustible materials, combustible waste and other items shall not be placed or stored in a manner that would obstruct or impede access to such equipment. Sprinkler and standpipe system control valves located at a height of 7 feet (2134 mm) or more above the floor shall be provided with fixed ladders, chains and wheels, or other approved means to provide ready access.
