K104.2 Route to Evacuation Location

A route shall be allowed through any number of intervening rooms or spaces. Doors along the route shall be openable without the use of a key or lock, special knowledge or effort.
Exception: Doors in individual dwelling or sleeping units having an occupant load of 10 or less are permitted to be equipped with a night latch, dead bolt or security chain, provided such devices are openable from the inside without the use of a key or tool.
K104.2.1 Group R-3.1 Occupancies
The route to an evacuation location shall meet the accessibility requirements of Chapter 11A or 11B as applicable.
