LP-gas containers shall not be filled with LP-gas in excess of the volume determined using the fixed maximum liquid level gauge installed on the container, the volume determined by the overfilling prevention device installed on the container or the weight determined by the required percentage of the water capacity marked on the container.
This section has been amended at the state or city level.
Mobile fuel tanks shall be filled only at an auto fueling station having a valid permit issued by the Chief. Mobile fuel tanks shall be filled only by the permittee or persons instructed in methods of proper use and operation and who are qualified to use liquefied flammable gas dispensing apparatus. Each qualified operator shall be required to carry on his person an identification card issued by the permittee verifying his competence.
Exception: The transfer of liquefied flammable gas from a tank vehicle into mobile fuel tanks of motor vehicles or equipment may be performed under permit from the Department pursuant to Chapter 1, Sections 105.6 and 105.7, provided:
- The transfer operation is not performed where the public is invited or where there is unusual exposure to life and property.
- The tank vehicles are approved by the Chief.
