Occupancy sensors shall be installed in all classrooms, conference/meeting rooms, employee lunch and break rooms, private offices, restrooms, storage rooms and janitorial closets, and other spaces 300 square feet (28 m2
) or less enclosed by floor-to-ceiling height partitions. These automatic
control devices shall be installed to automatically turn off lights within 30 minutes of all occupants leaving the space, and shall either be manual
on or shall be controlled to automatically turn the lighting on to not more than 50 percent power.
Exception: Full automatic-on controls shall be permitted to control lighting in public corridors, stairways, restrooms, primary building entrance areas and lobbies, and areas where manual-on operation would endanger the safety or security of the room or building occupants
