The opening in the enclosure shall be guarded by a gate to a height equal to that of the enclosure. The gates shall be permitted to be the horizontally sliding or the swinging type and shall be equipped with a combination mechanical lock and electric contact conforming to 2.12.4 and 5.3.1.8.4 through 5.3.1.8.7 where doors and gates exceed 915 mm (36 in.) in height.
