40.7 Inspection and Maintenance

The inspection, testing, and maintenance program shall include the following:
Records shall be kept of maintenance and repairs performed. [654:12.1.3]
Bearings shall be lubricated and checked for excessive wear on a periodic basis. [654:22.214.171.124]
If the material has a tendency to adhere to the feeder or housing, the components shall be cleaned periodically to maintain good balance and minimize the probability of ignition. [654:126.96.36.199]
Fans and blowers shall be checked periodically for excessive heat and vibration. [654:188.8.131.52]
Maintenance, other than the lubrication of external bearings, shall not be performed on fans or blowers while the unit is operating. [654:184.108.40.206]
