1701.5.1 Fire Protective Signaling System and Fire Detection System

A fire protective signaling system and an automatic fire detection system meeting the requirements of the USBC, Volume I, 1987 Edition, Third Amendment, shall be installed in assisted living facilities by August 1, 1994.
Exception: Assisted living facilities that are equipped throughout with a fire protective signaling system and an automatic fire detection system.
