R324.1.3.1 Acceptance of Alternative Methods Establishing the Design Flood Elevation

In areas prone to flooding as identified in Table R301.2(1) where a base flood elevation has not been determined, the code enforcement official may accept the use of other sources to establish the design flood elevation, including, but not limited to, New York State, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Natural Resources Conservation Service or another authoritative source, such as historical data.
