Maine Building Codes
NOTICE
The Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code (MUBEC) is applicable to all towns within the State of Maine and must be enforced in a municipality with a population of 4,000 residents or
more. Municipalities with less than 4,000 residents may not enforce a building code other than the Maine Uniform Building Code, the Maine Uniform Energy Code or the Maine Uniform Building and Energy Code.
Installations of electrical equipment commencing on or after July 2, 2021 must comply with NFPA 70, 2020 edition as well with all applicable statutes or rules of the State of Maine and the Electricians' Examining Board and all applicable ordinances, orders, rules and regulations of local municipalities.
